Getting started
Choosing your entity and jurisdiction
US LLC vs C-Corp, UK Ltd, or UAE Free Zone — and which state or emirate fits your situation.
The first decision is what kind of company to form and where. FormBridge supports four entity families; the Formation agent will recommend one based on your residency, customers, and fundraising plans, but here's the shape of the choice.
Entity types
- US LLC
- The most common pick for non-resident founders. Simple, flexible, pass-through by default. Great for agencies, e-commerce, and bootstrapped SaaS.
- US C-Corp
- A Delaware C-Corporation is the standard for startups raising venture capital. Choose this if you plan to take institutional investment.
- UK Ltd
- A private limited company registered with Companies House — a strong base for founders selling into the UK and EU.
- UAE Free Zone
- An IFZA, RAK ICC, or Meydan free-zone company, with optional residence visas. Zero-to-low corporate tax and a Gulf presence.
Choosing a US state
| State | Best for |
|---|---|
| Wyoming | Privacy, low fees, and no state income tax — the default for lean, non-resident LLCs. |
| Delaware | Institutional comfort and the standard for C-Corps raising capital. |
| Florida | Founders with real US-facing operations or a US presence. |
State filing fees are always billed at cost with no markup. You can compare the full breakdown on the pricing page before you commit — the total is shown before you pay.
Not sure? The Formation agent asks a few questions about your business and residency and recommends an entity and jurisdiction with its reasoning. You can read the deeper trade-offs in Wyoming vs Delaware for non-resident founders.
