Connecting your bank
Link your business account through Plaid in a couple of minutes. The connection is read-only — FormBridge can see transactions but never move money.
Bookkeeping starts with a bank connection. FormBridge uses Plaid — the same secure connector thousands of financial apps rely on — to read your transactions. You authenticate directly with your bank inside Plaid's flow; FormBridge never sees or stores your banking password.
Connecting an account

Go to Books in the dashboard sidebar and choose to connect an account.
- 2Find your bank in Plaid
Plaid's secure window opens. Search for your bank — Mercury, Wise, Relay, Brex, or a traditional bank all work — and sign in with your bank credentials there, not in FormBridge.
- 3Authorize read-only access
You grant Plaid permission to share transaction and balance data. That's all FormBridge receives.
- 4First sync
Recent transactions pull in and the autopilot begins categorizing them. From then on, new activity syncs automatically.
The Plaid connection is read-only. It grants permission to read transactions and balances — nothing more. There is no path, in the app or the agent, to send or withdraw funds from a connected account.
How your connection is protected
- Your bank password stays with your bank. You enter it inside Plaid's window; FormBridge never receives it.
- The access token is encrypted at rest. The long-lived token that keeps your connection alive is stored with AES-256-GCM encryption, never in plain text.
- Webhooks are verified. Every update Plaid sends is cryptographically verified before FormBridge acts on it, so nothing can spoof a transaction feed.
- Org-scoped. Your bank data is isolated to your organization and visible only to your members. See security for how tenant isolation works.
